Data security and access to information are high priorities. Critical data pertaining to trading, operations and day to functions are often accessed with the use of a password , which once created can all to easily be lost or forgotten or even on occasion deliberately / maliciously changed.

Passwords are often used to prevent others from accessing your documents, spreadsheets, databases and zipped files etc but what happens if you forget the password?

If you find yourself missing a password whatever you do follow these simple rules

1) Do not panic !

2) Call a data recovery expert do not risk using software if you suspect the drive is at all faulty.

3) Ensure the company you have entrusted your data to has their own facilities and is not just passing your drive on to someone else.

4) Be clear what you need back – it is often best to ask for what is important first. Larger drives take longer to recover and transfer, any time saving could potentially save money.
