The top three driving games

April 22, 2009 · Filed Under Tech News · Comment

There are several ways you can buy a car whether it’s from a retailer or contract hire. In a way the same goes for the way games are made, they can be realistic, pc usable or put on a console, whether their there for a laugh or not what is the best driving game?

The game that comes into my head first is not what you would expect from a driving game. Easily the most unrealistic driving game ever made. Got to be in the top three of all time and not just my personal opinion, its Mario Kart. Mario Kart proves that you dont have to have a game that looks amazing to be able to have fun with it. You have a lot of choice in the characters, karts and bikes you can have in the game. Seeing someone get hit by a giant shell or run over by you when you are giant is the most satisfying element of playing Mario Kart and is what makes it so good.

Another great game is the fantastic Forza 2 on Xbox 360. This game is brilliant as it not only looks very realistic you can play it online as well as choose every single part of the car from the paint to the engine. When playing this game you take realistic damage and as well as this you have to make pit stops to change fuel and tyres. Ranging from the Golf GT right the way up to the Lotus Elise this game has hundreds of cars to choose from. If you are using a wheel then the handling of the game becomes even more realistic. Going at 100mph round one of the games corners and you are going to see your car spin out of control and hit many others along the way.

Another good driving game is one of the Grand Turismo games as they look simply brilliant. These games have always been known for their reality and number five certainly does not steer away from this. The cars im the game look exactly the same as you would see them looking at them through a showroom window.

The same is true in real life. Some of the cars you can get are at quite affordable prices. You can get car contracting on pretty much any model nowadays ranging from mini’s right the way to Mercedes contract hire. They really are a great way to beat the downturn with prices under £300 a month you cant really go wrong.

Even though games show us all these brilliant cars and even though every car manufacturer is having huge sales, it is still expensive to buy a new car.

Can the Wii get more people into golf and other sports?

April 4, 2009 · Filed Under Tech News · Comment

As long as the game is nt Tiger Woods 09 as that game is quite possibly the worst game of the entire series. A well made game for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, they really only apply to the people who enjoy sporting games over the shooters and others. With the new MotionPlus technology in place it means I will certainly be buying the new game for my Wii over my Xbox and PS3. What is pushing me to even consider this? It’s certainly not because I’m saving money on electric golf trolleys that’s for sure. However it is in fact due to Nintendo facing that in fact their motion sensing technology however amazing it is to five year olds, it just doesn’t work as well as it should. I wont go into how much of a disappointment Nintendo have been over the last 3-4 years however with the invention of the MotionPlus attachment for the Wii remote this makes the game respond to how you move, something which should have been researched into more before the console was released.

When the weather is grim and there is no way that you are going to be able to get out and play on the local course all you have to do is turn the Wii on and you can get going without even having to brave any of the weather. The game does show a great insight into how difficult the game actually is from choosing the right club to deciding what the wind direction is and getting all the stress a real golfer is.

The new game which is due out later this year will sell more than than last years edition that much is certain. Many people who are rubbish at the sport including myself can find that this is easier to use and even if you still fail at least it is in the safety of your living room and not in the middle of the golf course. A great bonus to having this game is that you can swear and shout as loud as you want without the worry of someone kicking you of the course for being too loud! Although watching someone fail to hit the ball very far on the Wii will be amusing it certainly will not be anywhere close to when I was an assistant greenkeeper at my local golf course and took great pleasure in watching some of the golfers fail miserably.
The best thing of all is that you no longer have to charge golf batteries up, just walk into the room, pick up the remote and have a game!

First up would be the officially licensed action figures that are available. Action figures are a fantastic and affordable item for any games fan, with all of the major games releases represented in action figure form from your local specialty stores. 2008 saw the rise of Halo 3 figures and Gears of War figures (individual, box sets and 12 inch versions) storming the video games merchandise scene, but there are so many other games with licensed figures available that there is something out there for most diehard gamers’ tastes, and we all know just how discerning they can be.

Final Fantasy is, as always, well represented on the scene. There’s action figures, statues, replicas and other collectibles available from the hugely popular franchise. This particular series of games seems to be the one with the most longevity, with each of the games from recent years proving to be popular on the merchandise front. The action figures, from Square Enix/Play Arts, are some of the most beautifully made and packaged items on the market, and would make the ideal gift for any fan.

There are even high-end collectibles relating to games and video games culture from companies such as the mighty Sideshow Collectibles, who create some of the most finely detailed and highest quality collectibles on the global market.

Creating Your Own Video Game Heaven - Even When Married With Children

January 3, 2009 · Filed Under Tech News · Comment

Have you ever dreamed about building a video game environment of your own, a video game heaven? A place where you and your buddies will spend many hours playing your favorite games without interruption? Or how about a setup that really displays your game fetish? It’s really pretty simple to create such a place and you don’t need to lease out a video game hall to do it. This article will introduce a few ideas you can use to build the ultimate video gaming center.

Thought # 1 - The first thing that you need to do is make sure the rest of the family is happy. Attempting to play a mean game of Super Mario Tetris or Halo 2 can be impossible with kids running around the house and screaming bloody murder. You won’t be able to enjoy the latest role-playing game when the wife’s hen-pecking you about bills or unfinished jobs too. Keep a happy home, keep a happy marriage, and your time spent playing video games is going to be heaven away from heaven.

It’s no secret that some games call for as much concentration and focus as when hitting the books for a calculus final - and there’s nothing more discouraging than when you can’t figure out how to get through to “the next level” of a game. This is no time to be distracted, and if family life isn’t what it could be, you’ll never be able to concentrate on your game. Make it a goal to establish home as a place to unwind first - then work on enjoying your games.

Thought # 2 - You can now devote a place in your home as the exclusive game room. This will not only emphasis the importance that gaming is to you (and to your family members), it will also become conducive to the mentality that you need to play a fun and relaxing (albeit, serious game). Budget permitting, decorate the room with all the amenities that you want. You could add a recliner (or two) for your friends, a small stand to hold snacks, a storage unit for your games, and you could even add a small fridge and microwave (just in case). Your intent here is to declare the space as yours and that it serves only one purpose: pure gaming pleasure.

What you’re looking for is a place that’s completely and totally pleasing to you, both aesthetically and functionally, so that you’ll enjoy your time there.

With your own space dedicated to gaming, you’ll want to do what’s necessary to maintain it and keep it in a condition that’s inviting not only for yourself, but for others as well. Keep your equipment and games clean. Take care to keep cables from tangling and organize your magazine subscriptions, books, or Internet cheatsheet printouts. Maintenance is a task that doesn’t have to burden you as long as you make a daily routine of it. By sticking to a regular upkeep schedule, you demonstrate to yourself and others that this space is important.

Thought # 4 - Take special care not to alienate yourself from the rest of your family. I think that we all can have a favorite hobby and we can even devote a specific area of our home to that pastime. However it’s extremely important to regard this place as a haven - not a hide out. This is not a place where you go to hide from the children (or wife!), it’s not a place to shun home responsibilities, and it is definitely not somewhere you live. If this special space is approached in the latter manner, you’ll soon discover it as a place of resentment, uncontrollable habit, or even depression. Be careful, schedule quality time with the family, and enter your playroom only at appropriate times. Cooperation from others will then come naturally.
