Learn How To Copy PS3 Games

July 10, 2009 · Filed Under Tech News

If you are looking to make copies of your PS3 games there is a way to do it quickly and easily. To proceed you will need some peices of equipment. One thing that is required is a computer with a decent size hard drive where you will store the games on. In addition the computer will need to have a DVD burner so that you can then copy the games off of the computer and onto a DVD. The next thing you will need is a cross over cable to connect your PS3 up to your PC. Once you have connected your PS3 to your PC you will have to mount the PS3 to your computer so the PS§ shows up as an external drive. This is not difficult and there are websites out there that can walk you through this process if you do not know how to do it.

Once the information is transferred over to your computer you can then burn the ISO to a DVD. Copying Ps3 games is really not that difficult. While the information is stored on the disk, this will not play on your PS3. You will have to physically modify the chip on your PS3 if you want to play thses DVDs. There are chips out there that can read burned disks through the PS3, but installing one will invalidate your warranty. It is not illegal to play burned games on your system as long as you are the owner of the games. This can be very handy if you have disks that get damaged or are looking to make sure that you do not lose your games. For the most part though people will use these chips to try to play rented games or games from friends that they burn onto the disks. This is completely illegal and can carry a significant penalty if you are caught doing so. It is best to be aware of what the consequences are before you begin doing this.
